Goth is a music base subculture with roots in the postpunk movement of the late 70s and 80s. It draws on elements of horror, death, vampiric aesthetics and glam rock. The “gothic” part of goth comes from gothic rock which gets it’s name from gothic horror which most people are familiar with i.e. Edgar Allan Poe or Dracula. This is not by any means and exhaustive definition but just to give you an idea of where to begin.
