hello and welcome to the group!

although i wish you didn't have to join :(

this group is for those of us who have lost a parent / both parents

what this group is/why i made this group

i noticed there wasn't a group/space for us here on spacehey, and as we all know, we NEED community when we grieve. if it wasn't for my family/support system i wouldn't know what to do or how to process such a loss. and i know a lot of others feel the same way, but unfortunately not everyone has a great support system already in place. this group is to provide support to those who need it. 

what this group is not

this group is not for venting about mental health crisis. 

please do not post about suicide/self harm whether it just be thoughts or not, this is not the place. 

while i know personally those can be huge issues when grieving, especially someone close to you such as a parent, no one here is a therapist or trained to handle crisis situations. i encourage anyone with thoughts of harming themselves or others to reach out to their local crisis center/hotline and seek professional help. these topics can also be extremely triggering for others and we want to be courteous and respectful to any and all members.

  2. Be kind and respectful. Everyone grieves differently, but that doesn't give you the right to be a jerk.
  3. No Spam/Gore/Pornography
  4. Group members must be 16+ to join.
  5. No politics
  6. Trigger warnings are not required but highly recommended for graphic posts. (mentions of dead bodies, causes of death, etc)
