HopePunk
Here we hold out hope for the future.
To be hopeful is to defy the narrative that everything is past the point of no return, while understanding that there is work to be done (both as an individual and as a society) in order to bring about the best future possible.
Rebellion can be in the form of kindness, looking after community, and envisioning the steps to make our world a better place.
It is easy to feel as though things are hopeless, as though you are too small to do anything of worth alone, but you must actively choose to reject that way of thinking. There is meaning to what you do; the more often you make the effort, the more often you will believe it. People are not perfect! We are messy, and complicated but that is what makes us beautiful.
The aim of this group is to share that joy! Show off that bread you made (even if it's a bit burnt!), that skirt you mended (even if the stitching is uneven!). Tell us of things you've done to help your neighbours or ways people helped you and your gratitude for them! Be imperfect and expect imperfection from others! Be kind and expect kindness!
“A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.”
