Power Pop Overdose
Power pop is a subgenre of rock music and a form of pop rock based on the early music of bands such as the Beach Boys, the Beatles, the Byrds, and the Who. It typically incorporates melodic hooks, vocal harmonies, an energetic performance, and cheerful-sounding music underpinned by a sense of yearning, longing, despair, or self-empowerment.
Power pop has lasted generations, from the Beatles to the Posies, Big Star to Jellyfish, the genre has earned its fair share of fans including yours truly. Hopefully, this group can either provide a space for popheads to chat, or maybe it'll bring light to some unsuspecting people.. when the power pop strikes, it strikes hard.
